KIDS FROM CNIB EXPERIENCED A SENSORY ADVENTURE AT CAVALIA

FINAL WEEK OF PERFORMANCES ADDED IN WINNIPEG SHOW MUST CLOSE JULY 8!

WINNIPEG, MB (Wednesday, June 6) @Cavalia #Odysseo – Today in Winnipeg, a group of visually impaired children from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) had a rare opportunity to experience an amazing and moving adventure at Cavalia Odysseo. The children, who rely heavily on their other senses to fully understand the world, were guided by Odysseo artists through a sensory journey created specifically to meet their special needs.

The group discovered Cavalia Odysseo’s equestrian and acrobatic world through a variety of hands-on exercises. Members of the cast allowed the children to touch the horse’s soft coats and brush and groom them. They smelled and touched the horse’s food, felt and tried the saddles, and listened to the horse’s heartbeat and breathing with stethoscopes. The young guests also played percussion with musicians, discovered the texture of the costumes and danced with acrobats. At the end of the tour, riders brought their horses to a full cantering speed, allowing the children to feel the ground quake beneath the incredible power of the equine stars. At the end of the tour, tickets to the show were offered to each child so they can experience the beauty and magic of Cavalia Odysseo with their family.

It was also announced this morning that in response to the strong demand in Manitoba, the producers of the largest touring production on earth will be offering one last chance for audiences of all ages to catch Cavalia Odysseo before it leaves town. A final week has been added to the run in Winnipeg, totaling an impressive nine weeks of performances on the show calendar. This marks the final extension of the equestrian and acrobatic extravaganza in Winnipeg. Matinee and evening performances are now scheduled through Sunday, July 8. The 70 horses and 50 artists featured in Cavalia Odysseo will then make their way to Montreal to continue the show’s critically acclaimed North American tour.
